Choose the arrangement for the room
Tell us whether you need a new opening, a complete replacement or a new leaf for an existing frame. Describe privacy, light, the available swing space and your preferred finish. Hinged and sliding arrangements need compatible components and fitting details. A reference photograph helps define the brief; it does not confirm that every size or construction is available.
Separate leaf sizes from opening measurements
Record opening width and height, finished wall thickness, handing and the final floor level. Identify frames and architraves you want to retain. Nominal leaf size, structural opening and clear passage are different measurements. Before ordering, agree who takes and approves final measurements and which alterations are included.
Specify the complete door and its ironmongery
Define the leaf construction, finish, frame, architrave, hinges, handles and latch or lock. State any fire, smoke or acoustic requirements at the outset. Evidence must match the proposed complete assembly and fitting conditions; a rating on one accessory does not establish the performance of an installed doorset. Replacing components in an existing assembly needs its own compatibility review.
Coordinate fitting and handover
Door work can be planned alongside flooring, skirting, kitchen cabinetry and bespoke furniture. Clarify removal, making good, delivery access, protection and the sequence of work. At handover, check opening, closing, latching and the agreed appearance, and record outstanding items. Product and workmanship warranty terms are defined for the agreed scope; retain the order reference for support.
Global expertise, supply shaped around your project
We assess the nearest suitable region alongside technical capability, product specification, quality, capacity and your programme. The supply or manufacturing location, site support and logistics responsibilities are confirmed in the proposal. Distance is one consideration within a coordinated project decision.
We stand behind our work
We stand behind the building materials and furniture we supply and the installation work we carry out. Warranty coverage, duration, start date and conditions are specified for each product and work package in the quotation and contract.
Product and installation warranties are defined separately. For support, contact info@mpandoglobal.com with the order or project reference, affected item, delivery date and a description of the issue. Applicable statutory rights remain unaffected.
Work through the details before you order
Do I need a door leaf or a complete doorset?
A replacement leaf may be an option when the existing frame is suitable and the hinges, lock positions, clearances and required performance can be matched. A doorset brings the leaf and frame together, with the included seals and ironmongery defined for the chosen system. Share photographs of the existing opening and tell us whether removal and fitting are required; MFABER will describe the proposed components and responsibilities in the quotation.
Which measurements are needed for an internal-door quotation?
Provide the opening width and height, finished wall thickness and the existing or proposed finished floor level. Include the number of doors, opening direction, room use and preferred finish. Mark dimensions on a sketch and identify whether they describe the wall opening, frame or leaf. Initial measurements help prepare the enquiry; final ordering dimensions and any site measurement responsibility must be agreed before manufacture or purchase.
Could a sliding or pocket door make better use of a small room?
Start with a plan showing the opening, furniture and available wall space. A hinged door needs a clear swing; a sliding arrangement needs an appropriate track and travel area, while a pocket system also depends on the wall construction. Tell MFABER what can be altered and whether privacy, glazing or particular performance is required. The proposed system, wall preparation, ironmongery and fitting responsibilities should be confirmed before ordering.
How should I specify whether an internal door opens left or right?
Send a simple plan that identifies the viewing side, hinge position, swing arc and the room into which the leaf opens. Mark nearby cupboards, walls and other doors that could obstruct the handle or swing, and give each opening its own reference. A note saying only left or right can be ambiguous. The handing discussed in your MFABER enquiry should be matched to the selected manufacturer’s terminology and an approved drawing before ordering.
