Scope of work

Prepare your inquiry

Send the project location, approximate dimensions or quantities, existing conditions and target date. Specify whether you need materials, labor only, or supply and installation together. The proposal separates product specifications, delivery, preparation, installation, handoff and warranty terms.

For decorative or hand-finished tiles, confirm the acceptable variation and the care requirements of the selected finish before ordering. A tile suitable for a feature wall is not automatically suitable for a shower or floor. Any sealing treatment, installation system and maintenance method should follow the selected product documentation and the agreed application.

From a surface idea to a clear tile package

Bring us the look you want and tell us how the space will be used. MFABER can assess ceramic and porcelain supply, tiling work or an agreed combined package. As part of our global project support, we evaluate the nearest suitable region against the selected products, technical needs, delivery conditions and schedule.

We turn the initial brief into a defined schedule of surfaces, formats, finishes and quantities. Samples, product documents, box quantities, cutting allowances and the agreed installation work are reviewed before ordering. Material supply, preparation, fixing, delivery and handoff are identified separately so you can compare the proposal on a clear basis.

Questions before you decide

What should I send when I want to buy tiles?

Provide the application, size or product reference, approximate area, finish and color preference, and delivery location. Batch/shade consistency, cuts, wastage allowances, packaging, transport and lead time are reviewed before ordering.

What should an installation quote include?

List removal of existing finishes, substrate correction, waterproofing where needed, adhesive, laying pattern, cuts, grout and cleaning. The written proposal identifies which items are included and how variations will be handled.

For work that will be concealed by tiles, agree the inspection points and records before installation begins. The proposal can identify who checks substrate readiness, membrane details, connections and penetrations, and any testing required by the selected system and project. Record the materials used and acceptance before covering the work; a generic drying-time claim is not a site inspection or a test result.

Practical answers before you decide

What does rectified tile mean, and can it be laid without grout joints?

Rectified tiles have mechanically finished edges for more consistent dimensions. This can support a neat, narrow-joint appearance, but it does not mean a joint-free installation is possible. The joint width, grout, movement joints and substrate preparation must suit the selected tile, installation system and project requirements, following the manufacturer’s instructions. MFABER can review the product reference, format, laying pattern and intended use when preparing a materials or installation proposal. The agreed specification should identify these details before ordering.

Can the same waterproofing system be used in a shower, steam room and exterior area?

Do not assume those exposures are interchangeable. Specify how the space will be used, whether steam or outdoor exposure is involved, and the substrate, drain and adjoining construction. The selected system and its current instructions must cover the intended application, including relevant joints, penetrations and compatible fixing materials. MFABER can coordinate material supply and agreed installation with suitable regional resources after that review. Suitability for one wet-area application does not automatically cover every other use.

Is waterproofing the same as crack isolation under tiles?

They are different functions. A selected product may address one or both, but the intended use, substrate and complete assembly need to be checked. The application requirements and quantity can differ even for the same product. Share the surface condition and the purpose of the membrane so MFABER can review the proposed materials and installation scope against the exact product instructions. A crack-isolation description does not by itself establish waterproofing, and a membrane is not a substitute for assessing an unstable substrate.

Can MFABER supply materials without installation?

Yes. Request supply only, supply and installation, or a defined subcontract package. Identify specification, quantity, delivery point, unloading needs and timing. Product availability and suitability are confirmed against the project requirements.

How should I compare two quotes?

Compare specification, quantities, brand or approved equivalent, surface preparation, labor, delivery, installation and handoff on the same basis. Review exclusions and warranty terms as well as price. A square-meter figure without an agreed specification can hide important differences.

How are samples, delivery and site readiness handled?

Agree sample approval before procurement, then confirm the delivery location, access, unloading and storage arrangements. The work sequence should account for dimensions and substrate readiness. Product documentation is identified for the chosen materials; a certification is stated only when it applies to that product.

What happens at completion?

The agreed checks and any outstanding items are recorded with the handoff information. Keep product references, care guidance and warranty documents. For a later concern, contact info@mpandoglobal.com with the project reference so that the product or workmanship issue can be assessed.

How long does the warranty last?

The duration depends on the product, installation or service. Ask for the applicable written terms with your proposal; the covered scope, start date, conditions and claim route should be clear before you order. A single duration is not applied to every product or project.

Should I request supply only, supply and installation, or a subcontract package?

Choose supply only when your team controls installation. For supply and installation, identify preparation, fixing, finishing and handoff responsibilities. A subcontract package also needs drawings, quantities, interfaces with other trades and acceptance criteria. MFABER can assess these options against the same specification so the comparison is meaningful.

Can materials be replaced with an equivalent product?

An alternative should be reviewed against the required dimensions, appearance, performance and supporting product documents. Confirm compatibility with the whole assembly and the effect on price, schedule and warranty. Record approval before purchase or production; a similar color or product name alone does not establish equivalence.

How should work in an occupied home, office or shop be planned?

Describe operating hours, access, noise and dust restrictions, storage space and areas that must remain usable. Agree sequencing, protection, deliveries, waste removal and the interfaces with other trades. Confirm any building-management requirements in the brief. Working hours and completion dates are established for the actual site conditions.

What information helps with a warranty or workmanship inquiry?

Contact info@mpandoglobal.com with the quote or project reference, product identification, relevant delivery or installation date, photographs and a description of the issue. Product and workmanship responsibilities are assessed against the written scope and applicable terms. MPANDO GLOBAL Inc. stands behind its products and work; coverage and duration depend on the particular supply or service.

How do I choose tiles for a shower, balcony or pool surround?

Tell us whether the surface will be wet, exposed outdoors, walked on barefoot or used with footwear. The selected product documentation and the intended installation need to be reviewed together, including surface finish, slip performance, drainage and the supporting build-up. A tile described as porcelain or matt is not automatically suitable for every location. MFABER clarifies the proposed product and work package for the actual space. For a project using North American specifications, request the manufacturer's product-use classification and any relevant DCOF test information for the exact tile and finish. DCOF describes friction measured under stated test conditions; a value alone is not a guarantee against slipping or approval for every wet area. Review it with the intended use, drainage, expected contaminants, maintenance and installation requirements.

What needs checking before installing large-format tiles or slabs?

Share the proposed format, thickness, wall or floor location, access route and any lifting or storage constraints. Substrate condition, layout, joints, edges and cut-outs need to be coordinated with the selected fixing system. The proposal identifies handling and installation responsibilities and any preparation required before work starts.

How is my measured area converted into an order quantity?

The measured area is the starting point. Layout, cuts, tile dimensions, units per box and any agreed spare stock affect the quantity to order. Shade and size-batch information should be checked for the proposed supply. We explain the allowance and rounding for the project instead of applying one waste percentage to every job.

Can new tiles be installed over my existing floor?

The existing floor needs assessment before that option is agreed. Its condition, bond, flatness, moisture and finished level affect the decision, as do door clearances, adjoining floors and wet-area details. MFABER identifies whether removal or other preparation belongs in the proposed scope. A photograph can help the first discussion but does not replace any site checks required for the chosen installation system.

What should I approve before cutting or fixing patterned slabs?

Review the proposed orientation, joint positions, visible edges and cut-outs against the actual material and drawings. Where pattern continuity matters, agree how the selected pieces will be arranged before irreversible cutting or fixing. A catalog image or a small sample does not show every variation in the supplied pieces.

Which records should I keep after delivery and installation?

Keep the agreed specification, product and batch references where provided, delivery record, approved changes, care information and applicable warranty documents. Record shortages, damaged items and any work still to be completed through the agreed handoff process. For later support, email info@mpandoglobal.com with the project reference and a description of the issue. For adhesives, primers, grouts and other installation materials, retain the exact product and variant, the relevant technical and safety document versions, and any approved substitutions. A brochure for a product family should not replace the instructions for the material actually used. If environmental documentation is requested, record the issuing manufacturer, covered product or product group, declared scope and validity dates. An environmental product declaration (EPD) reports environmental information within its stated scope; it does not by itself approve a tile for a wet area or replace installation instructions and warranty terms. Confirm that the document covers the proposed supply rather than assuming that every product from the same brand is included.

How much adhesive, grout and leveling compound should I order?

Each material needs its own quantity calculation. Share the measured areas, tile dimensions, proposed joint width and depth, substrate condition and the selected products. Adhesive and leveling compound quantities depend on the specified application and thickness; grout quantities also depend on the tile and joint dimensions. Use the consumption information for the exact product, then identify pack sizes, rounding and any allowance agreed for the job. A tile order allowance does not automatically cover these materials. Manufacturer calculators provide estimates, so their assumptions should be checked against the site and specification. MFABER can assess an itemised supply schedule with your installation team and confirm the proposed products, quantities and delivery arrangements before ordering.

Does rapid-setting adhesive mean the tiled area can be used right away?

No. The time available to use mixed adhesive, the time for placing tiles after spreading it, and the time before grouting or using the area describe different stages. Check the current technical instructions for the selected product and installation. Temperature, substrate and site conditions can affect the schedule, and readiness for grouting is not automatically readiness for every type of traffic or water exposure. Tell us when the room needs to reopen and how it will be used. MFABER can coordinate the agreed material and installation scope around those requirements, with the relevant checks and handoff stages identified before work starts. The requested reopening date should be reviewed with the installer rather than inferred from the words rapid-setting.

Should I send tile quantities in square feet or square meters?

You can provide either, but label the units on every room schedule and drawing. Include tile dimensions in inches or millimeters as shown in the product documentation, and distinguish measured surface area from the quantity to order. MFABER reviews layout, cuts, pieces per carton and any agreed spare material before confirming the order quantity. A nominal tile size is not a substitute for the actual dimensions needed to plan joints and cuts.

What should a kitchen backsplash tile quote cover?

Send the measured wall area, countertop and cabinet layout, outlet locations, corners, exposed edges and the tile reference. Identify demolition, wall preparation, setting materials, grout, trim and cleanup separately. Pattern alignment and cutouts can affect the work even when the total square footage is small. MFABER can assess supply only or an agreed installation package; final field dimensions are confirmed and product selection is reviewed against the project requirements before ordering and installation.

How do I request tile supply for an apartment, hotel or commercial project?

Share the finish schedule, drawings, quantities by area, sample requirements, jobsite ZIP code and delivery phases. Identify who approves materials, receives and unloads deliveries, stores the tile and coordinates installation. If your team requires product data or a formal submittal, specify the documents and approval process in the brief. Supply, freight, installation and any applicable taxes are identified in the proposal so the team can review the package on a consistent basis.

Warranty and aftercare

We stand behind every product we supply and every service we deliver. All supplied products and services are backed by warranty commitments for the agreed scope. Coverage, duration, conditions and the remedy process vary by product and work and are set out in the quote, contract or applicable warranty document.

Product warranty and installation workmanship are assessed separately against the supplied item and agreed work package. Keep the product reference, approved specification and relevant delivery or installation records. Any inspection, remedy or additional support follows the applicable written terms. Statutory rights remain unaffected.

For warranty or aftercare assistance, email info@mpandoglobal.com with the project or order reference, product or service, delivery date and a description of the issue. Add relevant photographs or screenshots without passwords or unrelated personal data. We review the information, clarify any inspection needed and coordinate the appropriate next step under the applicable terms.
