Choose a slab or a complete assembly
A replacement slab and a prehung door involve different work. Tell us what you want to retain, how the room is used, your preferred finish and the space available for the swing or sliding arrangement. Confirm which frame, hinges and other components are included in the proposed product. A design photo helps explain your preference; availability and construction still need confirmation.
Check the opening and the finished floor
Share rough-opening measurements, wall thickness, handing, photos of the existing jamb and the planned floor height. Door slab size, rough opening and clear passage are different measurements. Identify trim you want to keep and any flooring changes. The proposal should name who verifies final measurements and which adjustments are included before the order is placed.
Match construction and hardware to the requirements
Discuss solid-core or hollow-core construction, surface finish, jambs, casing, hinges, handles and locks as parts of the proposed assembly. Construction alone does not establish a fire or sound rating. Any required performance must be supported by documentation for the actual configuration and installation. Trimming a slab or changing hardware requires checking the specific product instructions.
Define installation and aftercare together
Coordinate door work with flooring, baseboards, kitchen cabinets and custom furniture. Separate delivery, removal, disposal, opening repairs, finishing and installation in the quote. Plan access and protection for occupied spaces. At completion, review operation and appearance, document remaining work and retain product identification. Product and installation warranty terms are defined for the agreed order and work.
Global expertise, supply shaped around your project
We assess the nearest suitable region alongside technical capability, product specification, quality, capacity and your schedule. The supply or manufacturing location, site support and logistics responsibilities are confirmed in the proposal. Distance is one consideration within a coordinated project decision.
We stand behind our work
We stand behind the building materials and furniture we supply and the installation work we carry out. Warranty coverage, duration, start date and conditions are specified for each product and work package in the quotation and contract.
Product and installation warranties are defined separately. For support, contact info@mpandoglobal.com with the order or project reference, affected item, delivery date and a description of the issue. Applicable statutory rights remain unaffected.
Work through the details before you order
Do I need an interior door slab or a prehung door?
A slab is the door panel; a prehung unit includes a door fitted to a frame, with the remaining components depending on the specification. A slab replacement requires checking the existing jamb, hinge locations, lock preparation and dimensions. Send photos and say what you plan to keep. We list the included components and installation scope rather than treating every door quote as a complete package.
Which measurements are needed for an interior door order?
Provide the opening width and height, wall or jamb depth, finished floor level and the required swing direction. For a replacement slab, include existing door and hardware measurements where available. Plans can support an initial quote, but final dimensions and responsibility for field measurement should be agreed before ordering or custom production.
How should I compare solid-core and hollow-core interior doors?
Consider the room's use, the selected door construction, finish, hardware and any stated performance requirements. A core description alone does not prove a particular sound or fire rating. If the project specifies tested performance, send that requirement so the complete assembly and documentation can be reviewed. Price comparisons should use the same components, preparation and installation scope.
Can doors be coordinated with custom kitchen cabinets and furniture?
Yes. Include the doors, kitchen cabinetry and custom furniture in the same project brief when their finishes or installation interfaces need to work together. Share drawings, samples or reference images and the construction schedule. MFABER defines the scope for each item and agrees on dimensions, finish approvals, hardware and installation sequence before ordering or production.
Can an interior door be trimmed or fitted to my existing hardware?
That needs to be checked against the selected door's construction and instructions. Do not assume every slab permits the same trimming or field machining. Provide hinge positions, lock preparation, existing frame details and the intended modifications. Compatibility and any limits should be resolved before the order; rated assemblies may require additional documentation and approved details.
What should a door supply-and-installation quote include?
The quote should identify door quantities and references, frames, casing, hinges, locks, finishes and agreed installation work. Clarify whether removal, disposal, opening repairs, painting and final adjustments are included. For multiple rooms or an occupied property, share access and sequencing needs. MFABER assesses the requested scope and location without assuming that all opening work is covered by the door price.
How do I specify the swing and handing of an interior door?
Provide a floor plan showing the side you are viewing from, the hinges, the swing arc and the room the door opens into. Identify nearby cabinets, walls and other doors that could interfere with the handle or swing. Give each opening a separate door number. Left-hand or right-hand alone may not settle the order: the manufacturer’s handing convention and the approved drawing should agree before the MFABER door package is finalized.
