Compare kitchen quotes by scope, not just the total.
Two kitchen quotes can show a similar design yet cover different work. Put both proposals against the same room plan and specification before comparing their totals. A missing line is an open question, not a zero-cost inclusion.

Set one comparison baseline
Give each supplier the same dated plan, appliance list and preferred finishes. Keep a proposal reference and revision date for every offer. If one includes a worktop and another does not, ask for the difference to be priced or identified separately; do not silently assume the scopes match.

Follow the material into the room
A material name alone does not establish a finished installation. Ask who confirms dimensions, prepares the substrate, makes cut-outs, transports the item and completes its connections. In a kitchen, the cabinet-to-worktop and appliance-to-furniture interfaces deserve explicit entries. Specialist work should be assigned to the relevant qualified team.

Resolve differences before selecting
Mark each checkpoint included, excluded or to be confirmed. Record the document supporting the answer. A later change to a finish, appliance or dimension should identify its effect on the work and programme. Compare the total again only after these differences are visible.

Leave no blank field that could be mistaken for agreement. The table deliberately contains no benchmark price: size, specification, access and the agreed work can change the comparison.

Frequently asked questions
Is a price per linear metre enough?
Not on its own. Cabinet heights, storage, finishes, appliances, worktops and installation may differ. Compare the same quantities and written specification before treating unit prices as comparable.
